Avinash is the author of Web Analytics: An Hour A Day, which I can recommend to anyone who is new at web analytics, as well as the Analytics Evangelist for Google.
In his post, Avinash takes a look at existing dashboards, available in web analytics tools or from web analytics consultants. The great point he makes, is that most dashboards are not actionable.
